New Airport

text

We have a new airport in Bangkok.  The name is pronounced su-wan-na-phum.  During low traffic times it takes 30 minutes to get from the airport to AGH.  During rush hour plan for at least an hour.  There is a main highway from the airport to the guest home.  The tolls will cost around 80 Baht.

2When you arrive at the airport you will be on level 2.  If you have arranged for a van (the cost is now 1,200 Baht) to meet you, look for the driver once you come out of baggage claim and into the arrival area.  The driver will have a paper with your name on it.  If you want to take a public taxi you will need to go outside of the terminal building to the curb. You will see signs and a booth where you can get a public meter taxi.

The arrangement is that you will pay the meter cost (anywhere from 200-300 Baht depending on traffic) and 50 Baht airport charge on top of the meter price.  You will also need to pay for the tolls (around 80 Baht).  The total cost will be around 300-350 Baht.

***If someone approaches you in the arrival area asking if you want a taxi be aware that you will be taking one of the airport limousines.  The cost is significantly higher than a public meter taxi.

***You can still use our map for the guest home.  The only difference being that instead of coming in from Pahonyothin Road you will be getting off the highway at Rama 6 exit and coming from Rama 6 road to Pradipat.  If you click on the directions page you will find directions you can print in Thai to give to the taxi driver with detailed instructions on how to get to us.
